For those of you going to San Diego Comic Con this week (and interested in my stuff): be sure to drop by Thursday's movie panel for upcoming SciFi film "The Giver"!
Not only will it feature a real-life Jeff Bridges (OMG!) and exclusive footage; you'll also be able to grab a free copy of this neat comic book tie-in I've worked on and am pretty proud of.
The comic -written by Nicholas Gazin and illustrated by me for Vice Magazine and The Weinstein Company- will be available exclusively at SDCC.
Also: anyone able to provide me with an undoctored picture of Mr. Bridges and said comic book within the same frame will cause me to first jump up and down hysterically and then consider early retirement because what else?
"The Giver" 1:30pm – 2:30pm, Hall H

Update Of Sorts
Really, I kinda can't come up with anything 'journal-y' to write here, but it was becoming too weird to leave the previous one here.
Anyway, as you can see from the recent updates, I've mostly been busy working on the current Wynonna Earp series at IDW, with writer/creator Beau Smith and recently new co-writers Tim Rozon and Melanie Scrofano (Doc Holliday and Wynonna actors on the show).
It's fun, it's exciting, it's a whole LOT of work, and in case you're reading: I'm hoping you're enjoying the result!
And in case you're unaware of Wynonna Earp at all, check this vid to find out! This one has Spanish subtitles because the original vid is
Wynonna Earp
Finally something I can talk about: I'm drawing covers for the upcoming Wynonna Earp series at IDW! Also to debut as a TV series on SyFy early next year.
The first one will be a special Valentine's Day variant.
Wynonna Earp #1 (February 2016)
Beau Smith (w) • Lora Innes (a & c) • Valentine’s Day Card Variant Chris Evenhuis (c) • Photo Variant
The US Marshals Black Badge division has been fighting back against supernatural threats for decades. But even the toughest werewolf, most bloodthirsty vampire, or grisliest zombie knows there’s one agent to avoid at all cost: Wynonna Earp. Descended from the legenda
IDW's Shadow Show #5: Conjure
Out tomorrow! IDW's Shadow Show #5, featuring Conjure by Alice Hoffman (Practical Magic, The Dovekeepers), an amazing and scary/bittersweet short story in celebration of legendary author Ray Bradbury. Adapted by Mort Castle and Sam Weller, with art and colors by me.
"It's summertime in a small American town, and rumor has it an angel has come to town. Two friends, Cate and Abbey, discover the truth... but there's a price to be paid for their curiosity."
I had a LOT of fun working on this and -if you get a chance to read it- hope to hear what you think!
The Grandmaster and other places
You can read "The Grandmaster" -a comic book tie-in to the upcoming movie of the same name that I worked on recently (the comic, not the movie)- for free here!
(It should even be animated, but that feature somehow won't work for me properly)
By the way, in case anyone's interested+unaware: I'm also on Facebook, where I post new stuff much more regularly and also share work-in-progress things that you won't find here.
