Hi all,
It's been a while (again)... Writing journals feels weird. Talking to people without seeing their faces.
Anyway, I'm excited to bring you this news: 'Notorious Circus', my latest graphic novel/BD book (48 pages, hardcover) with writer Kid Toussaint ('Snooze', 'A l'ombre du convoi') will hit the stores in France and Belgium early next month, with a Dutch edition planned for later this year!
No other languages in the works yet, but I'll let you know what happens.
For this book, which is a fun mix of murder mystery, freak show, character drama and ghost story, I've tried to channel those fun, 'swinging' american comic styles of the 40s, 50s.
Well at least I tried.
Here's the blurb:
"1926. A small town in the heart of America. Rookie FBI agent Eliot Ness teams up with a gruffy town sheriff to investigate the sinister death of a banker and... the decomposing circus clown found sitting in his office.
Through the Colorado mountains and accross the swamps of Louisiana, the duo embarks on a search for a mysterious circus with a troubled past.
But they are not alone in their quest for the acrobats, magicians and clowns of Circus Kerzulec... "
All pretty colours by Sjan Weijers.
